From 7-9 November 2023, the Norwegian project “The Nansen Legacy” will host a symposium with the title “Towards the new Arctic Ocean – Past, Present, Future” in Tromsø, Norway.
We welcome contributions and discussions from the international research community across Earth system science to shed light on and reveal both regional characteristics, connections, and pan-Arctic responses. Join with contributions and discussions on how the Arctic Ocean is changing and what it will look like in the near future.
Six sessions with oral and poster presentations will provide disciplinary focus across regions, and regional focus across disciplines. While the Nansen Legacy project has focused on the rapidly changing northern Barents Sea shelf and adjacent Arctic Basin, we strive for participation representing the Pan-Arctic heterogeneity to exchange knowledge and to connect science, regions, and humans.
