Press release: 2022 Frederik Paulsen Award Given to Svalbard-based Team
The second Frederik Paulsen Arctic Academic Action Award (FP Award) has been awarded to Marius O. Jonassen and Hanne H. Christiansen in a ceremony today at the Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavík. Their winning project aims to develop an advanced permafrost and meteorological climate change response system in order to build resilience in Arctic communities.

The Bachelor of Circumpolar Studies provides in-depth knowledge about environment and sustainability in the High North. Candidates gain insight into indigenous issues, social conditions and Arctic politics.
Research Infrastructure Catalogue Highlight
CEN Radisson Ecological Research Station
The station is run and operated by the following three member institutions of the Centre d’études nordiques: Université Laval, Université du Québec à Rimouski and the Institut national de la recherche scientifique. It has a total capacity for 25 people and comprises of 3 buildings for accomodations, a laboratory building, a fully equipped meeting room, a garage and a workshop. It is surrounded by the eastern Canadian Shield taiga with Boreal forest dominated by black spruce and grey pine.

Mon projet nordique/My Northern Project Competition winners 2022
On October 14, 2022, during the Arctic Circle Assembly, PhD and Master students from Québec and UArctic universities had an opportunity to present their work through lightning talks.
Rachel Guindon, M.Sc. student in Biology, Université Laval, Canada and her presentation: 50 Years of Muskox Presence in Northern Québec: Investigating Potential Effects on Plant Communities presentation became the audience's favourite.
