Greetings,

As March comes to a close, the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies continues its work to advance Arctic education, research and analysis, and strategic engagement. This month’s efforts demonstrated the Center’s growing impact—from doctrine development to strategic-level education and multinational cooperation.

We were honored to welcome a senior German delegation as part of their National General/Admiral Staff Officer Capstone Course, reinforcing the Center’s expanding role in strategic-level education and transatlantic cooperation. The engagement underscored the power of interoperability and shared learning in strengthening mutual security interests.

Our team also contributed directly to the updated U.S. Army and Marine Corps Arctic and Extreme Cold Weather Operations manual, reinforcing the Department of Defense’s commitment to preparing warfighters for success in the world’s most austere conditions.

Additionally, the TSC hosted its latest virtual alumni event focused on civil-military roles in Arctic emergency management. The discussion brought together voices from the United States, Canada, and Sweden to explore crisis coordination and shared response strategies—highlighting the value of sustained professional networks across borders.

Looking ahead, we remain focused on preparing the next generation of Arctic leaders and deepening our understanding of regional security challenges and opportunities with upcoming events like the Maritime Risk Symposium and the Arctic-Pacific Security Dialogue.

Thank you for being part of our growing network of security professionals. Stay connected through our website and social media to learn more about upcoming courses, events, and initiatives shaping the future of Arctic security.

Your friends at the Ted Stevens Center
