Second China – Nordic Arctic Cooperation Symposium starts today at the University of Akureyri, northern Iceland.
Yesterday, Assembly of CNARC Member Institutes took place. The participants were invited to participate in the excursion to Kárhóll, Reykjadal where the foundations of the Aurora Observatory and reception took place.
Today, the Sypmosium was opened with the welcoming speech by Hallgrímur Jónasson, Director of RANNIS.
Plenary keynotes are being given by the President of Iceland, Mr Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, Mr Chen Laiping, Counselor at the Embassy of China in Iceland and Marit Lillealtern, chargé d´affaires of the Embassy of Norway.
