The Joint Statement of Ministers from the 2nd Arctic Science Ministerial is now available.
The Ministers representing the eight Arctic States (Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden and the United States), fifteen further States (Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom), and the representatives of the European Union, joined by representatives of six Arctic Indigenous Peoples Organisations (Aleut International Association, Arctic Athabaskan Council, Gwich´in Council International, Inuit Circumpolar Council, Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North and Saami Council) have all gathered to further enhance collaborative science efforts in the Arctic.
They also strongly note the need for increased effort and urgent attention supporting further international scientific collaboration focusing on the warming trend in the Arctic.
