Morten Høglund, Norway’s Arctic Ambassador and Chair of the Arctic Council Senior Arctic Officials, is the recipient of the prestigious High North Hero Award 2025.
The prize was handed over by Patti Bruns, General Secretary of the Arctic Mayors’ Forum, during this year's High North Dialogue conference.
Høglund was recognized for his exceptional leadership of the Arctic Council during a time of geopolitical tension, advancing sustainable development and international cooperation in the region.
“This award is not just for me, but for the team and the people I have worked with over the years. Arctic cooperation is more important than ever,” Høglund said.
The High North Hero Award is an annual award established by the High North Center for Business and Governance to honor a person, organization or company who has contributed to highlighting or developing the High North.
