The Committee of Ministers Report concerning the interests in the Arctic was presented at the University of Akureyri on September 8th.
The Prime Minister of Iceland Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson opened the meeting. Speeches also were given by the Minister of Industry and Commerce Sally Elin, the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Sigrun McSweeney, the Minister of Internal Affairs Olof Nordal, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs Lilja Alfreðsdóttir.
The speeches were followed by a roundtable panel discussion on opportunities and challenges in the Arctic.
