Entrepreneurs, creators, volunteers, activists, ethno and travel bloggers from different regions and countries will discuss environmental issues, urbanism, volunteer development, etc. and develop breakthrough projects at the Arctic Council Young Leaders Forum "ICE: Inspiration. Communication. Efforts", which will be held on December 6 - 9 in Siberia (in Salekhard city, Yamal). Registration for the Forum has been extended until 31 October 2021.
The forum will serve as a platform for sharing experiences and launching joint projects for the development of the Arctic. Creative laboratories, expert reviews of ideas, lectures and master-classes by famous Russian and foreign speakers and bloggers await the participants. American scientist Sam Pottolichino, extreme traveller Sergey Syman, volunteer and TEDx speaker Konstantin Sedov, Finnish urbanist Jakko Blumberg, and many others are among the speakers.
The organisers will also provide compensation for travel and accommodations.
"We have already registered several hundred applications from more than 30 countries and 44 regions of Russia, but we are still receiving requests to extend the registration. Therefore, we decided to extend the application campaign until the end of the month," - Kirill Kondratov, Head of the Arctic Council Young Leaders Forum, said. “In order to introduce Forum participants to the only city on the Arctic Circle, Yamal, and its culture, we have prepared a rich programme: the Polar Circle crossing ceremony, a tour of the regional capital, a tasting of northern cuisine, an introduction to the life of indigenous peoples. A visit to Salekhard could be the highlight of this winter for the guests”.
Applications are accepted at forumice.ru through October 31st, inclusive. To apply, send your proposal of a project that could be developed in the circumpolar countries. At the end of the forum, the authors of the most interesting concepts will be invited for an interview and will be given support for realization.
Young leaders (18-35 years old) working in areas such as creative industries development, entrepreneurship, urban planning and branding of northern regions, social projects, volunteering, media, and information marketing of the Arctic can participate in the forum.
The goal of ICE (ICE - Inspiration. Communication. Efforts.) is to establish cooperation between young people from Russia, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Canada, Norway, USA. The forum will feature several tracks: "Business Acceleration", "Volunteering", "Development of Creative Industries", "Development of Youth Media" to reach this goal.

The Forum is organised by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), the Government of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, the District Department of Youth Policy and Tourism, the Department of External Relations of the Autonomous District, and the Project Office for International Youth Cooperation in relation to "Russia - Arctic Council''.
