The 2023 Arctic Circle Assembly is set to be an exceptional and impactful event, bringing together a vast array of expertise and perspectives to address the critical issues facing the Arctic region. Over the course of three days, from October 19th to 21st, the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre in Reykjavík, Iceland, will serve as the dynamic backdrop for this gathering, which is expected to be one of or possibly the most significant Arctic-focused conferences of the year. The final program is now out!
This assembly will feature a remarkable lineup of more than 700 esteemed speakers, each contributing their unique insights and knowledge to over 200 engaging sessions. These sessions will cover a wide range of important and highly relevant topics, including climate change, environmental conservation, indigenous rights, sustainable development, and the geopolitical challenges that the Arctic region confronts.
The Arctic Circle Assembly is a true melting pot of ideas, where experts from various fields, government officials, scientists, indigenous leaders, and concerned citizens come together to discuss, debate, and collaborate on solutions to the most pressing issues facing the Arctic.
Furthermore, the congress is set to feature an array of receptions, meetings, and art exhibitions, all centered around crucial topics related to the Arctic, climate change, clean energy, ocean resources, and various other pertinent fields.
The event will see the participation of prominent figures, including Ministers from the Icelandic government; Katrín Jakobsdóttir, the Prime Minister, Þórdís Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson, the Minister of the Environment, Energy, and Climate, Svandís Svavarsdóttir, the Minister of Food, and Willum Þór Þórsson, the Minister of Health. Joining them will be representatives from the scientific and Icelandic business communities.
Additionally, G. Fertram Sigurjónsson, the founder and CEO of Kerecis, and Kristian Villumsen, CEO of Coloplast A/S, will share insights into the historic sale of Kerecis, the first marine biotechnology unicorn in the Nordic countries.
