ARC YF

Arctic Resilient Communities Youth Fellowship (ARC-YF) is now seeking applicants for their fellowship. They are looking for young community leaders between the ages of 18-23 from northern Alaska, northern Canada, and Greenland to apply.

Seven fellows will be selected from each of the three regions to participate in the nine-month fellowship. The 2022-2023 cohort will focus on having a direct role in building resilient Arctic communities. Through a series of online workshops, fellows will engage in inter-regional community-based research where they will navigate the intersection of Western science and Indigenous knowledge to address the impacts of change in Arctic communities.

Research areas include:

  • Climate change
  • Green energy technology
  • Resource management
  • Sustainable economic and infrastructure development
  • Indigenous knowledge, cultural practices, and rights
  • Arctic governance
  • Local-scale planning

The 2022-2023 cohort will visit different Arctic communities in Greenland, Alaska, and Canada for hands-on learning experiences. Fellows will also develop and implement individual community-based projects that will aid in the longevity and resiliency of Arctic communities.

We encourage all interested Arctic and Northern youth in Alaska, Canada, and Greenland to apply! Please see the attached ARC-YF Application Flyer and the ARC-YF Info Flyer for more information.

Deadline to apply is October 5th, 2022, at 8pm EST.
