You are invited to submit contributions addressing key scientific challenges and transformations affecting the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions. The 2027 programme features seven science themes, convened by leading experts from Norwegian and international institutions:

  • Natural hazards and observed earth change in Arctic and subarctic environments and societies
  • Biodiversity Change in Arctic Freshwaters: Causes, Consequences and Conservation
  • Changing Arctic sea ice: observation, prediction, implications and adaptation
  • Observation technologies for science, security, and preparedness
  • The Arctic in Transition: Observing, Understanding, and Navigating Climate and Environmental Change
  • Ice is a Critical Mineral!
  • Information over Disinformation: Security, Sovereignty, Science and Communities

Abstracts can be submitted through the Oxford Abstracts platform

The submission deadline is 5 October 2026 at 23:59 CEST.

The call offers an opportunity for researchers working on environmental, technological, societal and geopolitical transformations in the Arctic to contribute to the scientific programme of Arctic Frontiers 2027.
